How did you get started in fitness?  judy 1

My friend, Lindsey, started her own fitness journey training for Figure competitions.  As I watched her transform her body, it compelled me to get off my size 12 ass, set a goal and go for it. I went from a size 12 to a size 4 and dropped 40lbs. I gained muscle, strength and stamina and I did it in a very healthy way.  I reached out to experts in the fitness industry who put together nutrition plans and weight training plans.  I engaged a personal trainer who taught me proper lifting and training techniques and my energy levels soared. Working out and clean eating has become a lifestyle for me.  And I’m proud to say I’ve inspired a few of my co-workers to get fit.

What is your fav workout songs?

There are some genres I like more than others.  I generally listen to Hip Hop for cardio.  And of course 80’s Rock is the bomb when I’m lifting.  Lol.

Do you have any superstitions? I want to say “No” but…yes, Friday the 13th.

What are a few of your accomplishments in the industry so far? Losing 40lbs since starting my fitness journey. The fact I feel sexy and confident in a bikini at 52 years old is a major accomplishment for me! Placed 2nd in Grand Masters Bikini at Barrie OPA event, July 2015.

What is your biggest pet peeve? Extreme overuse of the word “like” in every sentence.

If you could be any age, what would you be and why? Life is a continuous journey of experiences and learning.  Being young was great, being “not so young” is fabulous.  I look forward to embracing my golden years with optimism and a heightened sense of self-discovery.  I’m content at any age, it’s all part of the journey.

What is your dream car? 1962 Corvette convertible Judy 2

Would you rather shovel the snow or mow the lawn? Neither…I’ll get hubby to mow the lawn while I’m drinking Sangria’s on the patio

If you won $5000 shopping spree to any store, what store would you pick? Michael Kors

If you could do one thing in the fitness industry, what would it be?  Inspire other mature women to get in the best shape of their life

Who inspires you in the fitness industry?
Jill Bunny and Justine Munro

What are your personal goals in the fitness industry & competitions?

Pushing my body to be in the best possible shape for my age is my personal goal.  It’s a real challenge to gain and retain muscle as we age.  Since working with Jill Bunny, I’ve seen my glutes and legs transform in the past few months and I’m thrilled with the results.  I’d also like to work with other women my age to help them see their potential and help them find and meet their fitness goals.  I don’t have any lofty expectations with regards to competitions.  It’s an empowering feeling doing fitness competitions.  And I’ll keep getting up on that stage as long as I possibly can.
Why Team Bunny?I’ve watched Jill and her team of girls from afar for months.  And as I watched Jill transform these women’s bodies, it was clear to me she knows exactly what she’s doing.  I made the switch to Team Bunny in January 2016 and couldn’t be more thrilled with the results.  I love Jill’s style and approach to coaching and training.  She’s intelligent, optimistic, supportive, hilarious, self-deprecating and super responsive.  But more importantly her advocacy towards empowering women to improve themselves is one of the main reasons I made the move to Team Bunny.  She’s the real deal
